Few things bring our founders, Georgie and Chid, more joy than a beautiful day on an African beach. Liberty & Justice is our love letter to The Continent's sleepy beach towns, particularly Robertsport, Liberia - Chid's matrilineal hometown and our unending source of inspiration.
In 1787, at the age of about 18, our 5th great-grandfather, George, was granted his legal freedom by deed in Southampton, Virginia. He took the last name Liberty as a symbol of his newfound freedom. In his 70s, he emigrated from Virginia to Liberia with two generations of his descendants in the pursuit of persistently elusive freedom and justice.
The Liberty Freedom Fund is our way of honoring our ancestor George. The ten stars on our monogram stand for our commitment to both Biblical tithing and our commitment to 10 charities that create more freedom and justice in the world.
